Remote Weather Station using embedded webserver or gsm modem
« on: March 09, 2008, 10:20:34 AM »
I have two embedded webservers here, the micros with ethernet capabilities.

One is powered by Zilog ez80 and the other one is by Wiznet.

Di ako marunong magcode sa dalawa so kakapain ko pa, anyway I am also stupid with ethernet's etc.., ang tanung, pwede ko ba ikabit itong mga embedded webservers sa router (wireless) and view the webpage na naka embed sa kanila?

Another option ko is wag na ako gumamit ng embedded webserver, gamit na lang ako ng gsm modem, I hate and don't want to use nokia phones because of the FBUS, and also the DLR3P for AT is not that stable.

How much na ba ang gsm modem?

i got a fargo maestro 20 gsm/grps modem here... sabi daw, around 12k-15k yung bili nito. and i am using it for my project too, i can't lend it to you... if you want, i have seen a gsm modem in e-gizmo, 5k. di ko nga alam kung ok naman yung reviews nun.

But we can always use old cellphones

5k? Antay muna ako sponsor hehehehe, I have to extra nokia phones here, 3310 and 1100, both uses FBUS, tinatamad ako magcode sa fbus, and I don't know if I can make a stand alone pic micro to handle such protocol.

I will have quite a few transducer to be interfaced with the micro aside from the gsm modem/phone.

FBUS with a 4MHz PIC, even with hardware UART, is pushing it because of high baud rate at 115200.
Going to 20MHz or MBUS is possible.

GPRS to the phone is maybe good to connect to internet directly. Have not tried this solution because of high cost of phone internet connection (P10/30min. minimum).  But you could batch send all data within 30minutes.

Hmp

Tama.  From your router,  i port forward mo yung  port 80  -- the usual webserver port, papunta sa ip address ng embedded webserver.
