oo pala sis kapag may power na naka kabit, alam ko sa ICD2 i off nya din yung VDD para sa target, ganun kasi sa pickit eh siguro more or less 300 yang board na yan kasi 150 yung F84 eh, mas mura siguro kung 16F628 ka nalang sis puede mo gamitin internal oscillator nun

look at this:

notice, nagdagdag lang tayo ng several components. normally, may 10k at 100nF na tayo sa MCLR pin. naglagay lang tayo ng header, isolation circuitry(470ohmz, 1n4148 or schottky diode like bat42). kung gagamitin natin ang PGD at PGC, lagyan nalang ng resistors(i use 1k) to isolate them during programming. notice also the header (from pickit2 ito), notice the sequence. very much the same as with ICD2 (genuine or clones). I suggest ganyan din ang sequence ng header sa board so any programmer could reprogram.

so mura lang. additional of (1) header, (1) diode, (2) resistors... plus additional effort on the routing... heheheh

very much correct sis, during initialization (connecting of ICD2 or PICKIT sa target board), it detects if the board have power (VDD), kung wala, sya na ang magsusupply. syempre kung meron, automatically, disconnected na yan. JDM-based programmers could  not handle this. so kung JDM-based ang gamit na programmer, better yet, disconnect the supply before connecting the programmer.

1.yun pa lang diode na na bias from 7805 from out nya pin 3 to pin 1 ano ang effect nya. Napansin ko lang to sa Inchworm ni Blueroomelectronics ni tester ko mukha la naman rise or fall ng voltage at current..check ko din datasheet ng 7805 ala din ganung mood of connection.
2. yung max 232 di din tumataas ung 12 v na boost nya pag kinabit mo na 10.48V actual na alang.

Ito mga concern ko which hinders me to buy ICD2 clones

Nabasa ko dati, Yung diode na yun para protection yun ng Regulator during power down. Para yung capacitor after the regulator di madischarge dun sa output nung regulator, as if nag-suplly ka sa output (pin 3). Kaya wala syang purpose during normal operation.


and yung sa output ng max, it suppose to be as as source para lang pumasok sa programming mode yung PIC. its not suppose to be a source of 12v. ( and i think the output voltage of MAX depends on the capacitor used.)
