to SMD or not SMD...
« on: August 11, 2009, 10:11:51 PM »
hehe ngayon pa lang ako nagstart mag SMD soldering. and got hooked! ;D kasi ambilis compared to TH with all the "mil perfect" drilling. sana may smd sampler sa e-gizmo. something like yung usual values nang capacitor, resistor, diodes and transistors. it's also CHEAPER costing only .25 cents sa e-gizmo ang resistors. it's a LOT difficult to solder than th and sensitive enough to get component failure more often since it's smaller. and almost non-visible yung solder cracks.

but why students and hobbyist don't go SMD? is it availability or prototyping?  :( (btw: you can't breadboard on smd )

instructions on smd soldering. martin style...

1. lagay stensil sa pcb.
2. squeegee solder paste.
3. kunwari nag lalagay nang candy sprinkles. (parts)
4. lagay toaster, nuood tv, wait.
5. TING!

exactly... tulad kong nasa probinsya... wala nyan dito saamin.

di pa nga masyado gamit ang presentisized pcb dito... oh... wala pala kasing mabibilihan! buti nalang ang e-gizmo, nagsiship!

but... ok saakin ang SMD. walang problem.

OT: may bilihan ba dito saatin ng breakout board for TQFP, 100pins?

ako 'di gumagamit ng paste. mano-mano lahat. ;D ;D ;D

(i smell something fishy na)

you manufacture??? wow!!!

may USB PIC kasi ako... gusto kong aralin... 2 100pins na tqfp at isang 64pins.

nothing fishy!!! just want to learn! hehehe ;D

here's the sample breakout.
gamit ko yung 20 pin header male/female.
