the debian linux operating systems had a project for embedded operating systems called "emdebian" you can download the software on it's website..

I would like to correct the term "embedded operating system" Let us call it RTOS or "Real Time Operating Systems" for clarification.. they are typically designed for embedded systems.. embedded systems are usually designed to respond "real-time" and this is true especially for embedded medical equipments where the life of people is at "stake" and dependent on it..

Best example for this is the "VxWorks" by Wind River Systems and "QNX 4 RIOS" developed by QNX Software Systems..
