@celdricg

@celdricg

How much kaya yung FPGA board sa ASTI?

example nito ay UART. may mga prepared vhdl codes na din over the internet na pwede mautilize, medyo may kahabaan din... pero sa MCUs, may modules na nakaabang. lalagyan nalang ng max232, ayos na. another example are the ADCs. one may need ADC chip to interface it with FPGA. SA MCU, nadyan na yan., However, wala tatalo sa speed ng processing ng FPGA (well, in contrast to sequential processing devices). because of the concurrent processing of FPGA/PLDs nagiging mabilis talga.

This lessen the board size (as well as the power consumption). meaning magiging cheaper at efficient ang apps.

Fyi,  for those teaching in Universities/Colleges, Altera gives away a DE1 kit
http://www.altera.com/products/devkits/altera/kit-cyc2-2C20N.html
I asked for one and they sent me one in 15 days.

There are interesting sites like
www.fpga4fun.com

If you are interested in local projects involving FPGAs, we have some projects in Ateneo,
http://ohm.ecce.admu.edu.ph/wiki/bin/view/Main/PublicationList

maybe of particular interest is the one done 5 years ago
http://ohm.ecce.admu.edu.ph/wiki/pub/Main/TotoOppus/exoskeleton_fpga.pdf
this is exoskeleton control of a robotic arm using fpga.  Inspired by the FX series.  The user wears an exoskeleton arm suit that enables him/her to control a robotic arm (I'll try to post a video later, if I have time :-).

For those interested, there will be a CPLD/FPGA workshop in Ateneo from April 23 & 24.  Pero may bayad yata :-(, it is Ateneo-IECEP sponsored so I guess may CPE points din.
