lightning is an example of dynamic electricity....

anu ba ung dynamic electricity?

ung mechanics dalawa ang clase, statics and dynamics, bago makuha mo ang strength of materials.

Lightning both current and static electricity. A lightning bolt has many thousands of amps at millions of volts. The planet spins, but also has stationary waves through which it spins. It also has friction. Both of these cause the potential in the air to rise, as well as the earth. And yes..the earth has electricity in it. We don't create electricity from nature. We simply borrow it, make it do our bidding, and return it to ground...or "earth"

pumutok na ata utak ko...
There's more to electricity than i thought...
Lightning itself is static discharge, so lightning is electricity. Before lightning is static electricity and after lightning is kulog :-)
Static is the potential while electricity is the movement. Parang salita. Static is the words while electricity is the action (satsat ng satsat, wala namang ginawa...)

Lightning is a form of static electricity... Recall from our gradeschool that a simplest way to produce static electricity is to rub two things w/ very high ionization ability (Pert. to periodic table) examples could be Sodium(Na) and Chlorine(Cl)... I wonder if you can... Just an example. in  analogy with the earth's atmosphere, there is somewhat a collision or sometimes rubbing between molecules of different gases in the atmosphere which results in "lightning" it is considered a static electricity because the transfer of electrons isn't caused by an EMF but simply by molecular collisions which are in nature.

meralco does not offer a 110V service. they offer 230, 400, 460 and 34.5kV service - all measured line to line.

in some provinces, the service is 220V line to "neutral". "ground" lines are not supposed to carry current under normal circumstances.

Meralco uses 1.5 element meter - same meter used in North America that has 220/110 volt service.

Since Meralco does not provide a ground wire like most residential installations in North America, it does not supply 110 volt service.

^ and this is because our 220 volts is derived from 3phase 440 volts line to line voltage......so all this talk about putting one line and ground is hogwash.....

it may interest you to know that some areas in Pampanga near the Clark air base has this 110 volt service....

please do not mistake ground wire and neutral wire. ground wire is not a current carrying conductor, it is there to carry only fault current. a neutral wire is a current carrying conductor.

in the usa, the utility provides 3 wires - a live wire, a neutral wire and a ground wire.
meralco does not provide a neutral wire, although they now provide a ground wire - which makes 3 wires for new residential installations

meralco service is 34.5kV, the backbone of its distribution system. for residential users, meralco provides a transformer that has a 34.5kV primary and a 230V secondary. for commercial users, meralco provides a transformer with a 34.5kV primary and a 480V secondary. heavy industrial users directly connect to the 34.5 kv lines. really, really large customers are allowed by meralco to tap to their 115kV subtransmission lines

to clarify confusion between ground wire and neutral wire, here are the diagrams of North American Metering installations:

http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/mc-mc.nsf/vwapj/CS-E-XX_AppendixA_e.pdf/$file/CS-E-XX_AppendixA_e.pdf

North American residential service has 3 wires.

meralco meters (for residential) have 1 PT and 2 CT, one CT for each leg. newer residential installations have a ground wire that can be used for equipment grounding
