about sa USB Programmer ng PIC
« on: March 19, 2008, 06:48:39 PM »

If its true, can anyone here suggest a better substitute to it for a NEWBIE like me ...  :)

search for schematics here.. madami gumagamit ng JDM type of programmer dito..

yes obsolete na ang PIC16f84a pero if it can do the job naman, walang problema doon...

{know-it-all-mode}

JDM - di ko alam pero as far as I know it is a common Do-It-Yourself programmer na mabagal magwrite ng program sa MCU. Ang mabilis lang, erase. Hehehe.

On the sensors, I have heard of using IR for proximity pero di ako gaanong sure kung effective ito for that application.

It is the initial of the person who came up with the serial port programmer ( low cost) design . Mabagal talaga yan, kasi bit bang and polling ang technique. But this design if I'm not mistakin was originally from a Latin man coded "Ludipippo" ( I might be wrong on his origin).
GTP -USB ang gamit ko and WinPic800 yung software. But tomorrow, my new PICKit2 will be delivered  :D from Microchip Vietnam. The PIC1fF84 was slowly phased out. It has been superceded by 16F628a and the nanowatt/self write 16f88.  ;)

what i want for usb programmer..

im only working with 24Cxx EEPROM, PIC16F84A,16F628 at 877...2455...kahit it lang ang supported nya swak na..

Ung kit 149 ginawa ko from all available parts here in the philippines.

If you're interested post ko details.

Can this be used with USB-to-serial converters? What programming software can be used with it? Mind posting the schematic/layout/BOM/firmware for it? Thanks.
