hindi laser diode.. Gas excimer laser na ultraviolet ang ilaw.. yung excimer laser combination yan ng Halogen at Noble gas gaya ng XeCl..

OO delikado yun lalo na pag-tinamaan ang retina mo tiyak mabubulag ka.. yung sa laser eye surgery kasi ang wavelength ng UV na ginamit nila ay hindi kayang makapag-penetrate sa ilalim ng cornea (front transparent part of the eye) kaya ang nasusunog lang ay yung suface ng cornea not the underlying eye parts like the retina..

alam ko syan ibat ibang laser( i mean yung frequency) are used to target different types of tissue.. kung saan effective yung freequency ng laser to burn that specific tissue.. thats why yung mga laser will burn tissue but neighboring tissue is not affected.. even though that same tissue was also subjected to the same laser equally..
