anu pong maiaadvise nu na sensor (type, and model), na maglologic one lang pag super lapit na ung object?as in mga 1-5 mm nlng ung distance dun lang xa maglologic one...gagamitin ko kasi sa automatic pencil sharpener.pag ung tip ng pencil ay super lapit na dun sa sensor, maglologic one ung sensor, then papatayin nya motor.aun.thanks

Gamitin mo microswitch para simple at mura. Maraming available sizes and form factor ang microswitch. Pick the one suitable for your application.

ay required pla na sensor  ung gamitin, so nde considered ung microswitch..
ung sa mouse?/prang optocoupler ?e dba po, mag logic 1 parin un kht malayo medyo distance?

pag na-block ang slot non magbabago ang state ng output.

sensor:

A device or organ that detects certain external stimuli and responds in a distinctive manner

detector: any device that receives a signal or stimulus (as heat or pressure or light or motion etc.) and responds to it in a distinctive manner

it's a common misconception na 'di sensor ang mga simpleng bagay. minsan kasi pinapa-complicate din ng prof ang requirements, pero sa engineering world, the simpler you implement it, the better engineer you are. ;)

'yung sa mouse, makikita mo 'yung may wheel na may slot. ;)

I would suggest reflective object sensor like CNY70 or OPB607 available in RS Philippines or Farnell Philippines..
Alone I look for the way
Hoping you are waiting for me
where the hostile world has no say
that is where I always want to be.
Where my eyes want to follow
When I'm far, far away,
When life brings me sorrow,
Into silence I escape.

Alone I look for the way
hoping you are waiting for me
where the hostile world has no say
that is where I always want to be.
Where my rush of thoughts
in oblivion drowns
to forget the evil lot
I will sleep in safe arms.

parang mahirap i-sense ang tip ng pencil kung capacitive sensor gagamitin.. pwera na lang kung higanteng pencil  :D :D :D

mainam talaga dyan opto.

so, ung CNY70 po kea, magbabago ang state kung madedetect nia ang longitudinal area ng lead at the back of sharpener?ung po kc problem namin, since medyo manipis ang lead ng pencil.tas ung ilalim nmn ng sharpener ay may gear attached to the motor.

bro,try to look proximitor switch probe.bale inductive type yan(made of coil) @ ang typical application nyan ay limit switch tulad ng ginagamit namin dine sa planta na indicator for close & open position ng mga control valves.pag ang tip ng proximitor ay nalapatan ng object(metal/conductor) ay mag-iiba ang output noon once na nakabit sa switching circuit.another application ay sa vibration monitoring & measurement.lahat ng vibration probe ay may gap voltage(initial position/setting),so pag lumaki ang gap ay tumataas ang gap volt. @ pag lumiit ay bumababa ang g.v.till zero even vert. & horiz. position.i think pupwede ito sa application mo.try to search bentley nevada products @ baka may available na dealer dyan sa pinas or dyan sa raon na equivalent.thanks and good luck.

how about itong photo reflective sensor na ito kayang kaya nyang i detect ang malapitan at medyo maliit din sa tingin ko kaya naman nya ang sa lapis

these are cost efficient way of detecting objects. microswitch have a switching offset of at lease .5mm meaning it can detect and switch (logic high or low or bahala kna).
meron sa egizmo, deeco at alexan nito. add more if you need to. smaller the better.

ay guys, pinayagan na pla kami na microswitch gamitin.aun.anu kaya magandang orientation nung microswitch with respect to the sharpener's side, since the bottom is already occupied by the gear
