pa help nman jan sa mga PC experts.. currently upgrade my PC into 2gig memory(ddr2) but the problem is it shows on the system properties---general that the RAM was only 960mb. cno pwede makapagexplain nito?
pero pagnilagyan ko sya ng one 512mb and one 2gig it shows 1.43g my board was only foxconn and processor of 3.0ghz P4.. pa help naman and base on the specs.. it only support 2gig max of RAM...

try to update your bios.. if it is still not reading correct information when you have updated already with your "hardware properties" ..then there could be "sharing of memories" that is happening within the card slots.. look also in the "task manager" on what's happening with your system memories and where does it consumes more..

i suggest to remove everything connected with the PCI slot(s) and try to look in the "bios" if it is still reading incorrect memory information.. if in case it reads correct memory information, try to "swap" hardware in the pci slot..

sometimes the hardware graphic card, the mother board as well as processor from different vendors don't seems working together.. hence, i don't think that it is an OS problem..

2nd... sabi mo nilagyan mo xa ng isang(1) 512MB and one (1) 2G for d total of 2G & 512MB but it only shows 1.42G,,,, hmmmm then u said it only supports maximum of 2G of RAM?....

normally kasi nababawasan ang capacity ng memory pag nicheck mo sa system mo dahil un sa on-board video card.....

3rd.... DDR2 ung memory mo nOh?... hmmmm parang ngaun ko lng naisip na merong 2G na DDR2?_? (correct me f im wrong?) wat i know is DDR3 lng ang my 2G na RAM....

ganito n lng kuya google search mo ung Motherboard mo .... check mo ung specs nia at kung anu ung limitations nia.... medyo magulo eh ^___^

1..opo bosing.. but my extra akong video card di ko lng sya ginamit during that time so wala sya dapat magamit na malaking bytes...

2..nag explore ako kung ano mangyayari sa PC pag nilagyan ko ng dalawang ddr2 na lagpas sa max limit ng board (board limit 2gig)

3..yup nabasawasan sya ng bout 40mb sa 512 ko dati..

4..try check this one kingston 2gb 667/800 ddr2 from PC express

5..na check ko na din, kya nalaman ko ang max limit ng board ko..

nangyayari talaga yan...
download ka cpu-z tapos try mo ito...

1] lagay mo isang memory lang... [2gig] then run cpu-z check mo frequency
2] lagay mo yung isa pang memory card.. run cpu-z

kasi sa pc ko nangyari din yan.. bumili ako ng 1gig tapos meron ako 1 pa 1gig.. total of [2pcs] 1gig memory card
pag nilagay ko siya sabay ayaw mag register din nung isa memory.. pero pag isa-isa lang gumagana naman parehas yun memory..

tapos sa cpu-z nakita ko iba sila ng frequency.. tapos yun print ko yun tapos dinala ko sa binilan ko ng memory..
pinalitan niya ng match sa memory card ko.. ayun ok na 2gig na naka register..

compatibility issue lang yan.. try mo..

dapat same frequency ung RAM..tsaka check mo yung MOBO kung ano RAM frequency compatible nyan..yun lang po..^_^
