halos lahat ng sony models merong x-ray protect circuit.short cut method ko po check b+=normal check +24v on vertical supply=normal(pero as syempre dropping dahil nag shu ahutdown) ika nga walang overload.check HOT kung overheating=normal naman/pin out mo na agad kung aling pin ng jungle ung x-ray protect then short to ground mo.monitor b+ habang i po power on mo pag normal.check raster check audio kung meron then un ok na po.sometimes  u really need to dis able the x ray protect para malaman mo ung source nung culprit..pero sad to say ung mismong x ray prot ang me problema.. un lang po salamat sana makatulong

tungkol the protection circuit kailngan un talaga ng any electronic equipment/set specially ung may mga hi-vo and mataas ung current syempre for safety ng end-user.but...dapat maganda and basic lang ung design and malaking tulong sana kung me label an ma i isolate mo agad ung ckt with out even looking at datasheet and schematic nung unit.
 sa totoo lang sa mga older set ok lang kc analog ung circuit pero ngaun medyo mahirap na Y?..digital protection mode na ginagamit system control na nag mamaneuver nung protection...
ganito un,..dati mula b+ at heater nag lalagay lang cla ng resistor to feedback to jungle ic kung kailangan mag protect(or shutdown h-oscillation) syempre internally gamit nun refference diode (zener).
ngaun iba na...mula power supply..vertical ckt..sound ckt..horizontal ckt..video ckt..hv ckt..lahat me feedback sa system control and and protect ...shutdown the power supply...

ganda mo sis!! ask ko lng kc hirap hagilapin ng mga parts ng protect kc kanya kanyang cerquit ang feedback, pero isa lng ba patutunguhan nito papuntang xray prot punta jungle? so pwede ba idisable ang xray muna para makita dahilan ng trouble?

bihira ko kc magamit ang protect dahil naiisolte ko kung ano trouble ng shut down, gusto ko lng malaman to dahil di ko nagagamit to.. ibig sabihin kung mismo xray prot secrquit na my problema,yari ako.hehehe tnxs sa info..

When beam current is below a predetermined value, the control voltage is clamped to a fixed level such that the transistor is in a first (e.g., non-conductive) condition. When beam current exceeds the predetermined value, the clamping network is disabled and the transistor conducts in response to the control voltage to provide an output signal related to the amount by which the predetermined value is exceeded. In one embodiment of the invention, the output signal is supplied to a second or black level clamping circuit associated with a video amplifier to translate a black or blanking level of a video signal in a direction for causing the kinescope to conduct less beam current.

Thanks for the information. Helps a lot. But what I'm talking about ACL (see Q601 sa BMR models yata), it detects the B+, kapag mataas, di tutuloy h-oscillation. Pero madalas, high valued resistors ang nasisira (1.8meg or 470kohm),'changed value'. Opinion ko naman (sa tanong ni Sir Kagawad), sa mga old models, kapag 1 horiz. line, alam mo na agad sa vertical problema, kasi makikita mo agad me white na linyang pahiga sa picture na kapag napabayaan, sunog ang front ng crt . Tapos, nagdesigned sila sa jungle ang protect, yun, magba-blanking lang muna. Taas mo lang G2 (screen voltage), pag naaninag mo. 1 horiz. line, sureball na, vertical problem.Gaya nga sabi ni "marcialnasi"..."ngaun iba na...mula power supply..vertical ckt..sound ckt..horizontal ckt..video ckt..hv ckt..lahat me feedback sa system control and and protect ...shutdown the power supply"... O sa Sony, shut down h-oscillation. Kaya nasabi ko pampalito lang, kasi maganda na nga design nila dati, iba-blanking lang picture para di masunog crt screen, eh now, shut off agad. One way to troubleshoot is to 'disable' mo muna protect circuitry. Pero be sure na alam mo procedure para di ka masibakan ng crt o other parts...
