acer aspire 6935g problems in windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
« on: January 25, 2010, 11:18:06 PM »
Bro and sis, please help me naman solve this problem of mine regarding my laptop.  Originally, this unit come pre-installed with windows vista home premium.  All devices are working ok, like the cinedash multimedia controller and even the fingerprint scanner.  Pero kasi sawa na ko sa vista and want to try windows 7, so, I downloaded every windows 7 drivers from the acer support download website for my laptop's specific model.  Then with my fingers and eyes crossed, tried installing windows 7.  Ok nang aman, at first, there's so many unknown devices appeared in the device manager window, but one by one, they disappeared as I install each and one of the drivers.  After finishing the driver installation, I tried each device/peripheral installed in the laptop, sadly, 2 devices had some problems, first, the cinedash controlls, control po ito sa volume, and playback of media files, unresponsive po and very slow and reaction ng laptop, like for example, sinagad ko na volume level, yung OSD(on screen display) ang bagal lumitaw and hindi sakto, minsan bumababa pa ang volume level.  Second is the fingerprint scanner, unsuccessful and pag-enroll ko ng fingerprints, takes all 6 attempts and fails, bagsak, ayaw magregister ang fingerprint ko, wala naman akong kalyo. hayyy, sana meron akong kapareho dito na nakaganitong laptop and be able to help me.  Thanks in advance, and may the force be with you.

Before installing windows 7 you should have downloaded and run Windows7 Upgrade Advisor, it will tell you what software and hardware(installed on your laptop) is compatible or not with windows 7. Or you should have installed windows 7 by dual booting para magamit mo pa rin yung pre installed na vista after installing 7. Anyways, since its already done so all you could do is to recover the pre installed vista. Or you could continue using your currently installed windows 7, and try using vista drivers. I am using an old and cheap acer aspire 5570z(32 bit), which fortunately is running windows 7 well except for the minor card reader problem. At first  i have a prob installing 7 because of video conflict, but after i tried another installer, it works well and its fast. Only two of my drivers are not automatically installed after installing 7. So i think maybe your installer of windows 7 is the problem. Try another one, it may help. Use 7 ultimate.  ;D
