I used as basis for computation:
Energy consumption when boiling 2 litres of water (from 20 degrees Celsius)
Induction stove 745 kJ
Gas 1700 kJ
Because of the high efficiency of induction cookers, it takes 43% less energy to boil 2 liters of water.
Given the following Energy Densities:
Electricity ... 1 kW = 3,600 MJ
LPG ... 11kg x 50.4 per kg = 554.4 MJ
... and using the following fuel prices:
Electricity - P 8.70 per KWH
LPG - P 710.00 per 11kg cylinder
Therefore the cost of fuel for boiling 2L of water used above are as follows:
Induction Stove: 0.00180041666667 PHP
LPG : 2.17712842712843 PHP
All of the above is correct, unless it's not. I failed Algebra 101 during my froshie year in Uni ....
