Parang nung araw, Betamax versus VHS format. Buong mundo VHS na, tayo stick pa rin sa Beta. Nung naglabas na Sony (and other japanese brands) ng VHS version, pa laos na dahil sa VCD... Di kaya ga'nun din mangyari? Political kasi issue nyan, kung alin ang magiging 'universal standard'. Sabagay, di naman tayo ang nagdedesisyon nyan kundi NTC

dito naman kanya-kanya ang international scene. ;D

US - ATSC, Europe - DVB (and most other countries), Japan - ISDB. katulad din ng sa cellphone, iba ang gamit ng US at Japan dati, GSM ang karamihan.

may kanya-kanyang advantages. ang maganda lang sa ISDB, madaling kumuha ng portable tuner para sa PSP. ;D

^ mas malawak kasi ang political influences ng mga taga Europe kaysa sa Japan at isa pa may history ang Japan nung WW-II kaya mas madaming pumili sa mga Europeans or American standards kaysa sa Japanese Standards.

@Tita RD, san ba nakakakuha ng mga portable tuner na binanggit mo? ;D
