Best Low power microcontroller to used to interface to a BENQ GSM module help!!

Need suggestions po ng low power microcontroller to interface to GSM module. May existing  schematics na po using pic16f877a but since ung PIC ay hindi low power. Sino po may schematic diagram dyan na other low power microcontrollers interface to gsm module..tnx

sabi nga ni Ganssle "...MSP430...TI's underrated 16-bit microcontroller..." ;D

maraming Ultra Low Power ang MSP430. 'di ko nga lang natitingnan masyado ang sa Microchip.

marami ring Ultra Low Power sa ARM, operating down to 1.8V at 'yung iba nasa 90nm process na. ;D

but for practicality, kung saan na lang sanay. kung PIC, 'yung mga low power version na lang nila.

meron po ba kaung sample circuit dyan gamit ang MSP430 o ung ZILOG? how about pic16f84A?ok na po ba un? kasi dapat low power kasi batterry powerd gsm ung gagamitin namin. gsm based security system kasi ung project namin.

papalitan lang naman 'yung 16F877 at 'yung ipapalit na MCU, ikakabit sa UART 'yung GSM modem.

walang UART 'yung 16F84 at luma na siya, mahal pa.

so ung PIC16F877A tlaga ung best suit na gamitin ko po sa project ko? can i get a full schematic diagram ng connection pic to GSM module?with resistors or capacitors na. tnx po

why dont you make a rough schematic on your own and post it here the masters can help you if there are mistakes on your schematic

d pa kasi final kung anong micocontroller tlaga ang gagamitin ko. dapat kasi low power xa at kung possible no need for external clock sources.

^ then make a block diagram. ;) block lang muna 'yung microcontroller.

Check the XLP family ng PIC. sa website ng microchip, sinabe better than "MSP430". I am a MSP430 user pero gusto ko din itry ito kasi sabi sa website 20nA at deep sleep.
