seaman post kayo dito.
I live in fear when the shadows reappear
Unleashing all their might.
I never thought I´d face the demons on my own

My innocent mind is struggling to find A glimpse of light
Broken, We are broken, we are burning inside

Open your eyes and look at me, I'm alone here
In the end it's just you and me,
In the end it's just you I see

Oh My body froze as I saw you fall
Pull me through this endless night

Hello everybody. Tks sa invitation at sa space dito. well, seaman ako for the last 28 years and still working onboard a cruise liner as electronic technician or electronician in european terminology. Telephones and Pabx, Public address system, mga gamit sa broadcast center or onboard catv. Dati akong radio communications operator (yes, I miss the morse code) sa mga cargo/tanker/container carship/passenger and Roro vessels from 1980 to 1996 kaya na exposed ako sa ganitong trabaho. Nasubukan ko ring mag electrician/radio operator - 2 position. Thorough knowledge sa basic electronics is a must, pag basa at pag analyse ng schematics. So, sana nagustuhan nyo story ko. I'm very willing to answer any question to those who are interested to become an electronician onboard ships.

Cguro dahil meron silang salvavida or lifejacket in english. Ganito yun... Naka life jacket naman sya, takot. Kaya make sure you are medically fit pag gusto nyong mag seaman or seawoman. Kaya take it to your heart and mind pag nag training kayo. Pag nasa barko na kayo, every week merong boatdrill at firedrill at from time to time meron ibang safety training pang gaganapin.

Tungkol sa sahod, well depend sa position mo. Mababang rank mababa sweldo. Sa electronic technician, well sabi ko mas mataas sa electrician. offer ngayon between 2.8k to 5k usd depende sa experience at sa company.

Well folks, I enjoyed answering this question but I was hoping foreward to answer some technical matters ::).

sir

1. Passport ( with Valid U.S Visa)
2. Seaman Book
3.  Basic Safety Training(NAC)
a) Personal Survival Techniques
b) Fire Prevention and fire fighting
c)  Elementary First Aid
d) Personal Safety and Social Responsibility

4. Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat (NAC)
5. Fire Fighting (NAC)
6. Yellow Card (Vaccination),
7. OFW Registration Card,
8. Certificate of Competency ( TESDA or PRC)
9. Medical/ Physical examination Certificate (before contract signing)

            Good Luck!

aw sorry ngayun ko lang nakita ito...

anyway, just got on board first time way back November 15, 2006 as Messman, then as Chief Cook by January 8, 2008... earning about $1,200 per month...

But i am a little bit envy for what Chief electrician is earning.... $3,000 and up depending on the company....

Just finished my Motor control training in TESDA a while ago and hope to enroll in Marine electricity in one of our maritime schools in the country... what is 2 years anyway...

best regards
