switch and sockets arcs

.. madalas pagsinasaksak ko yung tv namin (kahit naka-off pa), nagkakaroon ng "arc" dun sa plug nya..
kahit 'tong AVR ng computer ko, pag-io-on ko, naririnig ko yung arc (dahil kaya sa mumurahin lang yung AVR ko ::))..

question:

hindi ba ito nakakasira ng mga appliances ?  ???
parang hindi 'to safe ah, kahit yung mga switch ng florescent nagkaka-"arc"..  >:(

majority jan sa appliances may maling design...

yung capacitor after ng rectifier walang current limiting sa pagsaksak (sa iba kasi hindi na pwede yung thermistor lang, laki na ng current)...kaya yung malaking inrush current ang dahilan ng arc-ing...

hindi kaya yung inrush protection circuit lang yung naririnig ko sa AVR ko..  ???
(yung mga passive inrush protection circuit gumagamit ng relay)..

paano naman yung mga appliances na walang inrush protection?
like yung florescent sa electric fan, kawawa naman sila..  :'(

kaya majority sa kanila (lalo na yung murang CFL) nasisira kaagad yung capacitor...

yung mga murang CFL na ayaw nang sumindi, capacitor lang ang nakikita kong sira...

yung electric fan medyo matibay naman...ang madalas kong makitang sira sa electric fan, mechanical parts...hindi na umaandar yung pampa-ikot (papalitan mo lang ng gear, 20 pesos sa may repair shop malapit dito), isang switch na lang ang napipindot, bali yung katawan... ;D though pwede ring masira yung startup cap nila...
