Dual Channel Mode RAM

.. kelangan ko ng mag-upgrade ng RAM.. kapos kasi yung 512MB ko..
.. di ko tuloy malaro ng maayos yung bagong na-download kong game.. :'(


ang first option ko kasi is mag-buy ng identical na RAM para siguradong magdu-dual channel mode sya..
pero konti na lang ang difference sa price ng 512MB saka 1GB na RAMs..  ::)
question:  ???
magdu-dual channel mode pa rin ba yung mobo ko kung 512MB saka 1GB ang RAMs ko ?

saka paano pala mag-interpret ng ganitong numbers/config 5-5-5-15(sample) ?  ???
anong tawag/term sa ganito?

ang habol ko nga pala, aside from RAM capacity, is also speed ng system..
nung tinignan ko yung task manager after kong i-close yung game,
more than 700MB yung kino-consume nyang memory..

I'd suggest dalhin mo yung RAM mo pag bibili ka ng bago...yung PQI ko hindi nagdual-channel dahil magkaiba ng IC na gamit... >:(

yung 5-5-5-15, timing configurations yan...the lower the better...gaming RAMs typically have 2-2-2-5, pero yung ibang RAM IC pwede mo i-clock sa ganyan, tataas mo lang yung voltage...yung sa akin rated at 5-5-5-15, pero na-set ko sa 3-3-3-15...

pag paglalaruan mo yung RAM settings, kailangan tandaan mo lang kung nasaan yung BIOS settings reset... ;D

tapos i-test mo rin using memtest86...free software yun, normally kasama sa Linux (Ubuntu meron nun)...typically overnight testing para mas sigurado kung ok yung settings...

meron nga yung ubuntu ko, pero di ko pa nagagamit yung memtest..
overnight? :o kala ko ilang minutes lang yung, matagal pala yun..  :D

sa BIOS merong settings ng memory...mas maraming features pag overclocking friendly ang motherboard... ;D

pwede pwersahin yung memory, bypass yung 1.8V supply gagawing higher supply (sa motherboard ko jumper setting yun, 2.2V ata magiging supply)...

kung walang bypass, ang method (usually used by extreme overclockers or experienced ones) ay yung Pencil MOD...ang ginagawa dito pupunuin ng sulat ng lapis yung resistor na naka-connect sa VCC supply... ;D

brod, advice ko sa iyo, 'wag kang masyado nag-aadjust sa BIOS setting o yung RAM clocking, medyo sensitive yan. Tingnan mo sa internet yung motherboard details kung ano ang default adjustments niyan. Kung hindi ka sigurado, kailangan naka-default ang mga adjustments. P4 ba yung ginagamit mo PC?

Di ba ddr2 na yan? wala ko alam na p4 na gumagamit ng ddr2 :D
