Here was the setup in my former office. It's a 22" wide LCD monitor combined with a 19" non-wide monitor. I used an HD2600XT with dual DVI outputs. The second monitor was also hooked to a TV tuner via its VGA inputs. The TV can be selected from the LCD's front panel. I bought a couple of VESA wall mounts to securely mount them to my computer desk.

Even with different sized monitors, both LCD's have almost the same pixel size and so the font sizes are almost identical on both displays. One was brighter than the other though.

Since I am now using a much smaller office space, it's a dual monitor setup on the laptop using its VGA out to my 22" inch LCD.
