available ang Lego mindstorm NXT nasa 30k ata sya sa alexan. hehehe..
double presyo kesa sa online kya online ka na lang bumili.

I got mine Lego Mindstorm RCX ver2.0. ok naman sya ang daming nagagawa. saka astig
ang concept ng sensors nya kung pano nya ginawa. nsa isang linya ang power out at input.
pero syempre alam ko na kung pano gumana.

Na-open ko yung discussion kasi ang robo-box pambata yung programming level ng microcontroller module.
May Graphic User Interface (GUI) na ginamit to drag whatever program you want to implement on the microcontroller. Ibig sabihin we can design an affordable microcontroller applications if we can convert the assembly or C language into equivalent GUI na pwedeng maintindihan kahit elementary graders. In terms of hardware parts, available naman locally ang mga materials like e-gizmo and alexan. Hindi ko alam kung may ganitong program na abroad na open-source.

as far as i remember, meron ng pilot project sa intrumentation, robotics and control lab eee up diliman.
zilog ung controller na ginamit.

'yung Lego Mindstorms NXT merong schematic ng controller niya sa net. hindi ko alam kung open 'yun o reverse engineered lang. 2 ang MCU na gamit niya, isang ARM7 (AT91SAM7xxxx - di ko maalala ang exact part) at isang AVR (ATmega48 ata). 'yung buttons at display ata ang handle ng AVR tapos 'yung ibang processing sa ARM7 na.

main advantage ng LEGO ay pwedeng gamitin ang basic LEGO sets nila.

madali i-DIY 'yung main controller niya. binigay 'yung schem e. hehehe. tapos wala naman atang laman 'yung dalawang micro. 'yung program nila ang naglalagay ng HEX. or may possibility na may bootloader pero malamang may nakagawa na noon.
