COIN SLOT INTERFACED WITH PIC16F84A AS (COIN COUNTER)
« on: September 17, 2010, 10:41:58 AM »
HELLO SIR/MA'AM...

ask po sana about interfacing the coin slot with microcontroller,,,
may program na po pra sa counter ng every drop ng coin..
the behavior is,, every time na may ihulog na coin, it counts as one, then it increments every coin drop...
i treated the coin slot like a push button.. every push increments..

may problem is, im using an S.R CPU COIN SELCTOR, it has 5 wires:
black----grnd
red----12v
white---coin signal
gray1(+/-)---counter
gray2(-/+)---counter

which of these wires (white or gray(1or2)) ang e coconect ko sa input port ng PIC16F877A??

salamat po...

Bakit ayaw ninyo subukan pareho? Subukan one at a time kung alin gumana. This is part of gaining experience. Nothing is fed to you in a silver spoon.

Ang gut feeling ko pwede pareho. The white wire is probably open collector output. You can input then to the PIC with a pull-up to the PIC's supply. For safety, try with just pull-up and check first with a voltmeter.

The gray1 and gray2 wires are probably opto-isolated outputs. Polarity can be any direction. They are probably not TTL compatible. The signal needs signal conditioning before inputting to the PIC.
