Three-way switches are called that because they have three connections, a common and two lines. From my childhood immersion in things electrical, I knew this configuration as a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch. Apparently in British electrical circles, it's known as a two-way switch.

mukha 'ngang' pertaining to the Switch itself ang THREE-WAY SWITCH =)

Mas maganda kung Impulse relay ang gagamitin. :D

Momentary lang ang gagamitin sa switch at tipid pa sa cable.

Anyway, sa typical na setup eh ok tong mga 3 way and 4 way switches. Pero pag marami ng location eh mashado ng magastos. Kaya mas preferred yung mga Impluse relay na laang ang gamitin. ;)

For 2 location, 2- 3 way switch.

3 and up use 2-3 way switch on both ends and nth 4-way switch in between for more location.

Example 3 location

3way   -  4 way   -  3 way

4 location

3 way  - 4 way  - 4 way  - 3 way

nth location

3 way  - nth 4 way  -  3 way

sis may diagram ka ba nang 4 way or 5 way switch?? do ko pa kasi naactual yun...
mejo naguguluhan pa kasi ako dun...@_@
pero sa  3 way ok na..yakang yaka ko na...^_^  kanina lang kasi may ginawa akong 3 way switch..

       3W sw                  4W sw                 3W  sw

                 __________         _______________
L1  ______/                  \  /                             \ ______bulb __ L2    bulb off
                 __________ /  \    _______________

L1  ______/                                                 \ ______bulb __ L2       bulb on
                 __________  ___  _______________

crisscrossing yung 4 way then flat, up or down yung 3W switch.
Hirap gumawa nito sa text.

Eto po ata ang ibig sabihin ni master JS..

Correct me lang po sir if mali... :D

Yung black line po ay conductor.. Pwde po kayong pumili kung saan jan ang + o and common.. Tapos, yung red lines po ay switches, namely 3-way, 4-way, 3-way respectively... Tapos, yung green lines po is yung path ang current.. :D Yan po ay ON STATE.
