SOLAR projects - E-gizmo's 5V/1W panels
« on: March 02, 2011, 12:34:30 PM »
guys,

post ko lang bago kong bili na solar panels from e-gizmo.. stated sa site as 5V 1W(200mA)

eto readings ko done ngayun .. 12:30pm, no clouds, full sunlight

Voltage : about 5.8Vdc (close to 6V na) GOOD!
Short Circuit Current : about 125mA lang? NOT GOOD!

should be 200mA (as stated sa site)

I was hoping for a 1A current.. mukhang till 125mA * 5 pcs. = 625mA max lang.. far from 1A..

hmmm anu kaya magandang project para dito? AA battery charger nalang or Li-Ion charger with a max of 625mA.. sayang bitin ako sa current output...  :'(

solar lamp. Konting resistors for the LED,  blocking diode para di magdischarge back from battery to solar, saka switch.

magkano score mo dyan sis??

matanung ko lang...di ba convert nyan ang sunlight to electricity? panu if supply natin yan ng electricity? mag produce din kaya ng sunlight?? :D

You will see sparks and light :)   hahaha

hahahah mga impakta kayo ;D

I was thinking maybe charge a NiMh (or Li-ion battery) .... sympre may MAXIM charge controller tayong hi-tech(anu ginagawa ng FS hehe...) tapos boost converter (or simply a 'regulated' joule thief) with strings of LEDs as load... yun palang nasa isip ko ;D

I think mas ok gamitin.

"Schottky diode voltage drop is between approximately 0.15–0.45 volts  - Wikipedia"

if parallel yung diode? mas bababa pa ba yung Vf nya??

I was thinking kasi of a buck converter, pero madami na parts nun.. mas simpler ang murahing diode, MURA pa ;D

yes schottky diodes have low volt drop, some malapit 0.1V

@kasamiko,
yung solar panels are usually wired in parallel(or series if voltage ang gusto pataasin).. then a single diode to isolate the battery kung mababa na terminal voltage vs battery charged

no..what I mean is...1N4001 with typical drop na 0.6v...if parallel ko sila na dalawa mag divide ba yung drop ko? maging 0.3V na lang? something like that...
