Set starts up and immediately shuts down
Check Q606 collector should be Zero volts. If high replace Line scan transformer. Replacement available from SEME HR7364


No raster, field collapse but blanked out
Check the resistor in series with D804


EW fault, reduced width, TEA2031 replacement failed
Change capacitors C830 and C831 (both 1uF)


6 inch wide bands across screen (black grey white)
Replace C655 (220uF) in the 5v supply to the micro


No raster
Replaced IC651 type STR36301

Frame failing, T.TXT not workingInt no sound from surround speakers
Replace R627 in the power supply

Replace C531 (1000uF,50v)

Powers up then trips off
1. Check IC251 (LA4280) for short circuit 2. Check for dry joints on 12v regulator Q608 also the other adjacent large transistors, the same fault will be experienced 1 to 2 hours after switch on

Check for dry joints on the 12v regulator Q608 also resolder the chopper transformer and metal plates earth tabs


Line pulling on macrovision protected recordings
Replace jumper wire JW802, mounted in location L800 with a 330ohms,3w resistor (Pt no. 121590821)


No E.H.T, line scan drive approx 10v
Check D1504 on the scart pcb for s/c

All supply lines come up then go low (standby)
Check pin 9 of CN001, if high the set is in protection mode, disconnect the pin, if set still fails to come on replace memory chip IC002 (Pt no. 875925211)



Starts then shuts down
Remove T601 resolder joints on all pins then refit

Int loss of picture and sound
Check the 12v regulator Q808 for dry joints
