The Energy Regulatory Commission posted on its website "A Resolution Setting the Installed Generating Capacity per Grid, National Grid and the Market Share Limitations per Grid and the National Grid for 2012 (ERC Resolution No. 4, Series of 2012)". Pursuant to its mandate to promote free and fair competition and enhance the competitive operation of the markets for generation and supply of electricity, ERC publishes the adjusted installed generating capacity per grid at least once every year. ERC also determines if there are entities that violated the market share limitations in each grid (30% of total market share) and in the national grid (25% of total market share).

As stated in its resolution, ERC declared that no entity violated the market share limitation. The total market share of of various generation companies based on the data provided in the resolution are shown below.

As of May 2007, government royalties (or government share) on indigenous natural gas was around P1.46/kWh. Enrile pointed out this is five to eight times more than the taxes imposed on imported fuels such as coal (P0.17/kWh), oil (P0.20/kWh) and liquefied natural gas (P0.29/kWh).

"royalty taxes" are collected by the govt supposedly to help make power prices lower. however, the previous admin used the money to buy bags containing "500 worth of groceries" for the poor. most coal comes from australia 9cheaper and better quality). very few plants use coal from semirara (expensive and poor quality)

tokyo is forced to restart its nuclear power plants as it is now feeling the economic crunch brought about by high power prices. the anti nukes league cannot seem to grasp the fact that replacing 30% of your power supply cannot be done overnight. that these people would even point to "alternative sources" are either dreaming or delusional.

replacing 46 GW (46,000 MW) is no joke, especially for an overpopulated small island grid such as japan.
