Can we break/disable the MCU copy protection
« on: June 28, 2011, 11:51:36 PM »
Sa satellite world,  usually hackers break into smart cards using what is called a glitcher.  But usually smartcards uses a serial protocol and this is where the attack is focused.

Sa mcu naman on commercial devices, how is this done.  Meron din bang mga custom s/w and glitching h/w that is being employed?

maganda nga sana kung non-invasive means   ... mukhang magandang sideline ito   ... para dun sa mga gusto magpa-update ng f/w to the latest.

may nakita na ako,  thesis niya ay ganto pero of all the chips he has unlocked, sa pic eh yung pic16f84 pa lang.  he is using a custom h/w to do some power glitching similar to what is being done w/ satellite smartcards.

Anong MCU function/firmware ang gusto nyong i-hack, Blinker? ;D
