JRC4558 is not really great for audio applications because of its poor Slew Rate and Noise Floor. Poor slew rate easily translates to higher distortions at large output swings especially at high audio frequencies. High noise floor results in poor dynamic range and S/N.

Marami rami na ngayung available the audio grade na OPAMP, some sporting THD spec as low as 0.00001%, katulad ng LME49990 from NS. Of course, medyo may kamahalan. Pero if you are looking for high resolution sound reproduction, these should be the components you are using.

Yet, DIY audio equipment may not be able to fully utilize the advantages of these audio opamps - a lot of advance PCB layout technique will have to come into play to achieve this.

Still, for general day to day and DIY audio applications, JRC4558 should perform respectably.

Mamahalin nman yata ang ukay2x nung bago pa ah. ;D ;D
