coin operated PC
« on: July 23, 2011, 11:55:07 PM »
gud evening , im planning to build a coin operated PC . gagayahin ko na lang yung sa PS2 arcade machine , i cut ko yung ground ng mouse and keyboard papuntang timer , pero naisip ko pag nag youtube or nag chat yung  gagamit, kahit disabled na ung kb & mouse makakapanood pa din sa youtube ung user. pwede ko bang isama yung ground ng vga cable sa timer para mamatay din yung monitor?????

need your advice , d nmn ako kasi masyadong marunong sa electronics , may basic knowledge lang po ,,, saka hobbyist ...

It's better if it was all software based because you'r eusing a coin-op one. Not unless if you are on the budget...

what if i-auto shutdown mo nalang TS. Pag-nareach na ng timer yung desired time, mag-sesnd sya ng signal to turn the computer off. Magbigay ka nalang ng warning 1 min before para ma-inform ang user na malapit na mag-time.

ano po mga master? ;D ;D ;D ;D

Anyway what if mag stand-by nalang ang PC after maubos na ang time?
The world's technology is always changing, no doubt about it, and I hope it’s a while yet before it impacts my ability to tinker.

Spyke, after reading all of he above good comments from kind sisters, I would think that the compromise is to scut off the video cable. Ayan, walgn makita pero ON and CPU. When resumed, andun pa rin ang signal, no need to reboot CPU.

May sample coin operated switch ako sa bahay in BF Homes, Pque. I am available weekends but can meet weekday in makati area where I work. The device has the timer and the ON switch inside. If you want to cut more than one line, a relay with multi contacts can be used. May switch na may in/out socket for the usual monitor cable. Hinde invasive sa computer. Kailangan ng 12V power supply and we can use PSU or even tap yung PSU ng computer mo to save.

^mahal pala iyan sis ;D ;D

Disabled yung keyboar/mouse.. turn off yung monitor..
