Hindi naman,  nag sick leave ako both hobby and work (and extra activity)  for a month, so, PDS delayed for 1 month.   Wala'ng availability ang iba'ng friends  para i-cover up ang development.   So, here I am catching up.

Hi, the DR100W_EQ module is finished, buth there is one big mistake on the PCB design, it is about the LM317 pad,  which was designed for LM7809 - the single big mistake, so there is a need to modify the PCB along to improved "tear down".

For our test, this is how the LM317 looks like to fit into a wrong pad :
 

OT,  ito'ng scenario na ito ang problema sa expertise, kung expert sa pcb at pcb lang ang alam (di alam ang hardware)  di na check kung ano diperencia ng LM317 at saka LM7809, etc... hmmm, dapat iba ang decal ng parts eh.   anyway, unlike those PCB designer who knows hardware, ma check nila.  As we are cooperating from designers miles away (ocean apart us) - medyo mahirap ang control, pati ako na overlooked ko

I finished the assembly at aroun 2:20 AM yesterday,  got the shot at 2:30:59 AM.  It looks ok,  so far so good.  Not yet subjected into parametric test.  I guess this week end is a good time.

Ovetime............ my table is quiet busy at 2~3 AM,  in parallel with DR100W_EQ module Assembly and initial test, I am monitoring the new protocol for personal Security Systems with the NE2ss (Night Eyes Security Systems ver. 2 platform),  link with home automation for our friend who like to build one for her (their) hometown house.

dandy, pag ako ang gumagawa hindi maaring walang spec sheet ang bawat component kahit na sabihin nilang "same as..." at pagkatapos kong naload lahat ang Footprints (decals) papadala ko ulit sa engineer at papa confirm ko sa kanya kung tama lahat ang Footprints pag nag confirm na tama ang lahat tsaka ko ipla-place then padadala ko ulit kung OK na sa kanya ang placement o may gusto syang baguhin pag ok na lahat gawa na ng draft layout then resend again...etc. etc.

so in the end pag labas ng finished PCB, lahat ay confirmed ng engineer - yun eh kung masipag silang mag check kasi in some case sasabihin lang nila, ok na yan

Basically, tapos na - - inaayos na lang ang PCB at saka procurement ng parts, and keep debugging the noise generated due to I2C interference on Audio.

Opo, may kasama na Tone Conrol ito,  ang processor ay ang TDA7449 -- sa demo firmware,  hindi activated o naka bypass ang treble =  0 dB at saka  bass = 0 dB,  ito ay reserved purpose kung mahina ang bass o treble (accessible by software thru I2C).  It is user  "choice".   Ang main na ginamit dito sa TDA7449  ay ang function ng Volume control.

Siguro, ipapaubaya ko na ang function ng tone Control sa User -- since, it is learning to program  a  firmware to control a “systems”,   nasa choice na niya kung isasama sa MMI o menu.  It is accepted naman na you can still boost the Bass and Treble with  +4~+6dB  to supplement the preset Equalizer tonal of +14 dB  (for Rock),  or compensate the missing  bass/treble on  Jazz, Classic, Pops listening mode.

The Preset Equalizer datasheet mentioned that,  with the correct choice of component,  the low and high frequencies can be tweak….  Di ko pa sinubukan ito.

Basically, hindi nice    ..... first, na-delay ang project, lags 1 month, 2nd, additonal delay dahil sa mistake sa PCB, 3rd - nasira ang pc ko at  nawala ang demo firmware  (finger print protected kasi ang pc) - Medion PC from Germany.

So, need to create the demo firmware (again).

Since, this project  is design for LEARNING,  1) HW design,  Software design and 3) simple Project Management,   we come to the point of choosing the right MCU to be the Heart and Brain of the DR100W concept.  So, those who like AVR/Arduino, 8051, PIC,  ARM core,  puwede rin PC can use this Project.
Ang Equalizer (EQ),  Power Amplifier (PA) at saka Protection Module (PM)  ay  TTL accessible,  and any processor with DR100W logic can control these 3 modules, you need I2C for the EQ module.   Siguro, kung may  Arduino ka na,  you can use Arduino to control the 3 modules   -- hand and hard wire na lang and connection.    Kung may Smart-H ng 8051 o Heartbeat module,  it can be also  (currently,  I am using the NE2ss-8051 Trainer Board to control these 3 modules), puwede din Basic Stamp,  STM32mini, etc.

The original idea is to design a standalone  Control Module PCB, kaso  ang hardware Team ay hindi ma-fit lahat ng MCU,  halimbawa gusto mo 8051, isaksak lang ang 8051 MCU na 40 pins which is also compatible with AVR 40 pins, gusto mo naman PIC 40 pins, ilagay lang pic, ARM naman,  eh….. di puwede  .  Siguro,  ipapaubaya na din sa diyer’s  -- puwede naman i-hand- hard  wire ang connection , as I said, kung may Arduino board na, puwede na i-program ang board, this will also cater those  who design the HW to interface with other thing like, MP3 Module, Bluetooth, and other stuff,  making the  project more personal than the “concept”  etc..

puwede Arduino, since nagsisimula ako sa Arduino, sinubukan ko sa LED Power On Off (with Arduino Uno) at saka sa LCD, saka ang conrol sa TTL logic level ng EQ,  puwede naman.  Puwede din gamitin ang LCD Keypad Shield, eksakto para sa MMI ng menu ang up-down-left-right-enter keys doon sa shield.   Drawback is,  16x2 ang LCD doon sa shield,  and MMI requirement ng DR100W CM  ay 20x4  para ma fit lahat ang information.

Kahit na anong MCU puwedeng gamitin basta kaya ang Requirements  -- naka design ang pin count sa 32 I/O  =  40 pins MCU.
