RIP STEVE JOBS
February 24, 1955 - October 5, 2011

This statement was just issued by Apple’s board of directors:

"We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.

Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.

His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts."

He was 56 and has been battling with pancreatic cancer.

I heard reports that Jobs is not a very good boss - one would never share an elevator ride with him unless one wants to be fired. Jobs reportedly would ask several questions until he fires the employee sharing the ride.

Not surprising,  since apple never made the list of great companies to work for (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/bestcompanies/2011/full_list/) while rivals Google and Microsoft are perennial listers

^ hindi naman hidden fact 'yun sir. yes he's a hotheaded temperamental guy, pero ang awarding niya on star employees is exceptional. sabi nga ng iba ok dahil great performers are rewarded greatly. ang typical remark sa kanya is Temperamental but a very remarkable leader.

even with that fact, undeniable na siya ang nag-set ng trend sa gadgets ngayon with most other companies just following suit. before iPhone's market success, majority ng phone qwerty keyboard ang major feature. ngayon, if it's not iOS, Android ang major feature nila. before iPad's market success, walang pumapasok masyado sa Tablet PC, lahat nasa Netbook. ngayon, halos lahat ng major manufacturer meron ng Android Tablet.

hindi ako fan ng Apple, pero undeniable talaga na trendsetter sila ngayon. even Windows 7 may have borrowed some concepts from Mac's OS X.

sabi nga ng iba, you want to be close enough to Steve to get warm but not too close to get burned.
