Is it using default font settings for the text editor? Baka hindi naka installed ang default font and the substituted font is not smooth. Try changing the font for the text editor in the Tools->Options->Environment->Fonts and Colors property sheet.

Sinet ko na po sa default.. pati yung sa menu bar ganun din.. Mabagal din sakin itong vb.net 2010..
