YAGI WITH ROTATOR 144MHZ.

 I wonder kung may interesado pa sa Yagi may rotator na, limited to say 5 elements. There is a way to make a homemade rotator. I don't know kung magkano ngayon ang light duty rotator. But we can abricate one kapag may makuhang geared motors na DC. Yung shaft di na kailangan nag bearing basta maikut dahil hinde naman continuous.walang load sun sa motor, pang ikot lang talaga.

Hi Kas and Duldog. mayber kas can sketch the idea. Plate siay about 18" tall. siguro pwede na 4" wide na may bend sa logn sides to stiffen it up.Sa likod, 2 ubolt para sa antenna. Dito kakabit ang mast.

Sa harap, pwedeng tubo say 3/4", say 12" long. may clearance sa plate, say 2", kalso or bracket so that the 2" clearance will make the 3/4" pipe lihis sa plate. insert a smaller pipe, say de 1/2", say 6" exceeding the 3/4" pipe and 1" below. May pin sa 1/2" pipe sa taas para di mahulog. Dun sa 6" sa taas, clamp the Yagi. Sa baba naman, connect to a geared motor.

Isang murang geared motor ay yung galing sa kiddie's bike or car. Geared down yun. ma pix ko nga. mayroon ako nun.

Ayun, crude and bushing pero what the heck, hinde naman continious ang ikot.

The antenna must not rotate more that 360 degrees , in fact less, maybe 330 deg.

Put end switches, kapag tinamaan, tigil. then reverse. Here is the schematic of the wiring if Kas can draw it.


 Motor with terminal 1 and 2. Normally close micro switch naka series sa power lines to each terminals(1 and 2).

Now, sa baba, power supply giving 3 volts, plus and minus. It goes to a toggle switch na may center off. Cross the corner pins and connect to PS. Center pins to the wires to the motor. So, when SW is to the right, the motor turns one way and to the left, the other way.

Now, look at the micro sw sa taas, kapag na open, no electricity can reach the motor. Let us say that the right micro SW receives a plus, when it opens motor sopts. THE TRICK IS TO PUT A DIODE THE OTHER WAY  SUCH THAT THE PLUS CANNOT REACH THE MOTOR. BUT WHEN YOU REVERSE THE POLARITY IN THE TOGLLE SW BELOW, AANDAR THE OTHER WAY! Same sa kabila.

Duldog, I cut many yagis during my "over,over"days sa 2M. Have 3 ARRLs and one ARRL Antenna Handbook.

Marami ma recycle to make rotators.


For direction indicator, put a POT sa shaft sa taas which simply changes the voltage sa isang meter sa baba. Yung and arrow indicator where your Yagi is pointing.


Now, kung dalawa yung geared motor na exacto parejo, sa baba nakahouse yun isa na may pointer. Kung anon yung ikot sa taas, yun din sa baba. alam mo san nakaturo and Yagi.

ok idol, i saw a pic sa facebook, i just can't remember who's account, ang ginamit ay wiper motor na pang jeep, inilagay sa box and mounted sa taas ng tower, but the pic was not so clear kaya i have no idea how does it exactly works

pwede yung wiper altho mabilis sa 12V, use 6V kaya.  Pero ang pinakamaganda ay bubutasin mo mo yung bubong ng bahay nii ERpat sa kwarto mo. Ayun, may tubo dun papunta sa yagi mo sa taas! Para walang tulo, may metal umbrella dun sa tubo right over the hole. naka VULCASEAL sa center ng umbrella.

     hahaha....pero seriously duldog sister yung sinabi ko sa taas ata o kay wheeler. Lubid lang. Mayroon kang mast na ma erotate from top down. TApos may pulley sa base or kahit crossbar lang, then may lubid papunta corner ng house, pulleys uli to the eaves, then pulley to ur room. Ahem.....mekanical ng lang.....

     may nakuha ako US made rotator, ayun gumagana 110V ng lang pati motor sa taas. Sa baba interesting, walang motor. When you wind the knob sa control box, may kwerdas, then a solenoid simply clicks to move the dial hanggang tumapat sa setting, then tigil.  Sa taas may wheel which closes a relay evry 360 degrees and send down to trigger the solenoid.

     Da Best is the geard motor sa kiddlies's car. papix ako. If youhave 2 similar ones, isa taas, isa sa control box. Kung anong ikot sa taas, dun din sa baba. May wheel sa control box na may noth. kapag tumapat sa micro switch, OFF. Yung micro sw sa plato na iniikot when you want the noth to go.

     Actually , I have about 40 pieces na window raiser motor na medyo geared din. I will try to make rotators. Sa E Gizmo raw, P800 to P1200 raw isa. Mura kuha ko ito for robot projects. Bka competitive pa rin price lalabas. I am checking price of rotator sa Aldelness, Raon.....do you have an idea?

Yap. Duldog sister, mano mano is practical. Noon araw, I built those kind of rotatable mast to pick up the Clark TV station from Metro Mla. may mga ring kame kung saan nakatali ang guy wires. Sa base naman, either may bearing, or kahit na bola lang sa tip ngmast nakapatok sa steel plate.

Pero you can also use a fixed mast na ang dulo lang rotatable. Kung may makuha kang 90 degree gears, yung vertical shaft  na rotatable maiikut with a horizontal pulley. Dun sa pulley, may lubid pababa. Yung isa may weight, yung isa papunta sa kwarto mo. Ayan, hilahin mo lang to rotate the yagi at isang lubid lang. Wag lang yung weight nasa ibabaw ng kwarto ng biyenan mo. kapag bumagsak and weight, ayan divorce ang resulta.
