Zigbee shield (E-gizmo)
« on: November 23, 2011, 09:33:40 AM »

can you provide the datasheet of the module?

Wala pong kasamang software.

Para malaman yung Receiver and Transmitter.. Or sa Arduino IDE na din? Kasama na sa program.

Base on the datasheet, you will have to set the parameters through serial interface. Siguro sa Terminal program mo ito gagawin.
XTU of digi is just basically a terminal software. So parang ganun na din yun gagawin.

Read the datasheet closely... sufficient na yun.

I just can't give you an actual example kasi honestly di pa ako nakakagamit ng katulad nyang sa e-gizmo.

"you will have to set the parameters through serial interface."

"The Zigbee in E-gizmo communicates via UART. So all you need is study the manual of the module for its commands.I think it is included in the cd that they give .once you know the command, you simply send it via serial from the arduino"

"Im afraid the Zigbee shield that the toturiall employs is one whose already preprogrammed to recieve and transmit pure UART data. kaya serial.print() lang ang ginamit pag send. In e-gizmo's case yould need to transmit not only the data but ALSO SOME HEADERS, CONFIGURATION DATA, CHECKSUM AND THEN THE DATA.yOU THEREFORE NEED TO PROGRAM THE SENDING IN THIS MANNER SO YOU MUST THEREFORE LEARN BY HEART ALL THE REQUIRED COMMAND IN THE MANUAL."

Try the following setup sequence. With the zigbee in command mode:

zigbee slave
1. AT+RESET<CR>
2. wait about 0.5s
3. AT+FLOWCONTROL=0<CR>
4. wait at least 0.1s

additional step for zigbee master only
5. AT+ROLE=0<CR>

Note: <CR> - carriage return
The zigbee pair should now work as wireless UART cable replacement upon exiting the command mode. ;)

(basag na nga yung zigbee stack, ginawa pang uart cable replacement!)

EDIT: my point is, zigbee has been hacked many times before nang mga white hat (before almost every month). madami sa google na "zigbee hack" so far china no name brand don't have the newer security that got in to zigbee's today. much immune and mature na ang zigbee much like wifi.

Saan po itytype yung command na yan? Sa Arduino IDE na po mismo?

It appears wala sa zigbee ang problem mo. Take one small step at a time. Yung arduino muna ang aralin mo. It is not terribly hard to learn arduino.

Once natutunan mo na ang arduino, you will figure out in a matter of minutes kung paano mo magamit yung zigbee with the arduino.

it is related on how will you communicate with the zigbee....

so paano nga ba? then pag-alam mo na kung paano magcocommunicate si arduino at si zigbee, malamang alam mo na kung paano gagawin jan...(mababasa mo rin yan sa manual/datasheet yan)

Hahaha..

read between the lines...

pero matanong ko lang. have you used your arduino to communicate with your PC? ...like hyperterminal or any terminal software?

Balik tayo dito sa tanong mo.

Quote

You edit the program using the Arduino IDE, compile and download it to the Arduino.

Quote
"you will have to set the parameters through serial interface."

Sa serial interface ng Arduino to the Zigbee ipapadala ang command. Magyayari yan pag pinogram mo si Arduino. I assume marunong ka mag program ng Arduino.

Anung commands i-send ni Arduino kay Zigbee? Ang sagot binigay ni Born2BeWired.

Quote
Try the following setup sequence. With the zigbee in command mode:

zigbee slave
1. AT+RESET<CR>
2. wait about 0.5s
3. AT+FLOWCONTROL=0<CR>
4. wait at least 0.1s

additional step for zigbee master only
5. AT+ROLE=0<CR>

Note: <CR> - carriage return
The zigbee pair should now work as wireless UART cable replacement upon exiting the command mode.

And finally follow this advice.

Quote
Read the datasheet closely... sufficient na yun.
