Hydroponics
Hydroponics is a technique for growing plants without soil. It uses an inert medium (peat, sand, vermiculite, etc) to which a solution is added containing all the essential nutrients required for normal plant growth. A purer form of hydroponics, water culture, involves growing plant roots in water containing nutrients. Their crowns are supported in a thin layer of inert medium. Hydroponics is also known as 'soilless culture'.

what i don't get is mataba ang lupa natin sa pinas... parang hindi worth it mag hydroponics unless high value crops or flowers.

This technology was primarily designed for urban farming and backyard vegetable farming systems. “This type of farming is easy to set up and more practical than the conventional farming system. It occupies minimal space hence it is doable in urban setting where small terraces can be used for growing crops. Also, the supplies and materials used are cheap and can be sourced out from recyclable materials”. One could grow high-value vegetables such as lettuce, sweet pepper, cucumber, and celery for home consumption. “You’ll have readily available vegetables on your table and it’s fresh”. It can be located in your rooftop.

'yung boss ko kahit sa farm nila nag-hydrophonics din siya dahil nga madaling gawin in layers. 'di ko lang alam ngayon kung ano na tinatanim ni boss, madalas kasi puro sisiw ang pinagkakaabalahan niya. ;D

wow, nde ba babahayan ng lamok yung tubig na gagamitin? naging nagka-interest rin ako sa pagtatanim kasi yung classm8 ko nagtanim siya ng ubas sa loob ng room niya,inilagay niya sa paso at ayun tumubo nga :) yung ginagawa niya raw pinuputol yung mga bagong tumutubong sanga para nde tumangkad, ang ganda tingnan at mabango pa yung amoy ng dahon,tapos don sa terrace nila ganun rin angdaming ibat ibang klasing prutas na nakatanim at bumubunga lahat, at ito pa yung maliit na puno ng mangga meron sanga na bayabas, may sinabi siya tawag don sa ginawa niya nde ko maalala pero bumubunga rin. hehe
