commands for reading of data from data lines of parallel port in vb.net

hello po mga master....help naman po....
we were currently working on a project,nkaasign po ako sa programming nung
system na ginagawa namen...gamit ko po is vb.net...kaylangan ko pong mag'interface using yung parallel port ng pc..bale may device po na magbabato samen ng data na padadaanin nila sa parallel port..
ginamit po namen ung bi-directional mode ng port..ung data pins(2-9) pu ung gagamitin namen to read the data
and para mag'out ng data back to the device..

may command na po kme..nagkaproblema po sa testing ng mismong device..hindi po mabasa ng program namen ung data na sinesend nila sa port..sinet ko po muna ung bit 5 ng control lines bago ko magread pra maenabled yung bidirectional mode eh...

anu pa pu ba ang dapat kong gawing command para mabasa po namen ung data sa data lines?ung reading pu kase is dpat na real time..monitoring po kase ung ginagawa namen..

pnu po iclear ung laman ng data lines pra mabasa ung bagong set ng data na isesend ng device samen??

Di ako advocate of using these hacks but here is what I found googling around. I don't know kung gumagana ito sa Windows 7. Let us know.

gumagana naman po,..actually nka2pagread na po kme ng data from data ports..ang kxo ndi pu xa ung actual pa na data coming from the devices na ico2nect smen..bale gumawa lang po ako ng simulation..isang ng'ooutput sa data port at ung isa naman po eh nagre2ad..ang nging problema po nung tinesting na namen xa sa may mismong device...nabasa naman po ung unang data na sinend nila pero nung may bagong set na po ng data, ang naread pa rin from data lines eh ung previous data na sinend nila..dapat daw po every read ng data eh mclear ung laman ng data lines pra mread ung bagong set ng data..aun po ung ndi ko alam kung panu...any ideas po...

Gumamit ng ibang OS like DOS. It's a hack to use the parallel port under Windows. The Windows Kernel is in control and so ganyan ang nangyayari.

If VB pa rin ang gusto ninyong gamitin, then use the serial port. Hindi recommended gamitin ang parallel port for direct access.

gnun pu b?kase po aun ung requirement smen na gamitin eh.......
pero kung sa serial po alam niu po ba kung pano mg'interface using serial po sa vb.net.?
matutulungan niu po b q with regards to that..wla po kase aqng idea how

Anung klaseng school yan na nag advocate ng hacks? You should follow good programming practice.

Di ako gumagamit ng VB and so, I can't help you. But even if I can, you should do it yourself muna.

serial na lang gamitin niyo. .madali lang kasi SerialPort.Open() lang ang command open na ang port mo. .
