The big brother of TDA8920BTH,



Left Amp :  DR100W_PA   with  TDA8920BTH    (used in the DR100 conCEPT Project)
Right amp :  TDA8950TH / TDA8953TH

For fellows hobbyist who are still eyeing for a higher power digital class D power amplifier.

Specs says :   TDA8950TH - 150Wrms/channel at 4 ohms   :  300Wrms Stereo
                    TDA8953TH  -  210Wrms / channel at 4 ohms  :  420W Stereo

Well,  I am on Field Trial (FT)  on the part of TDA8950TH the PCB and circuit is not yet finalized,  you are welcome to join the adventure while on FT stage,  I am still getting the IC TDA8953TH from Singapore, it seems cannot locate in China - our friends there find the TDA8953J  but not the TDA8953TH.

friends,  were looking for the TDA8953TH IC mukhang mahirap hanapin itong IC na ito masubukan muna sana ang performance niya,  itong PCB ay naka design para lang sa IC na ito  - allowing bigger heatsink and headroom for power supply  (and of course an options to allow the younger brother chipset TDA8950TH and TDA8920BTH).

The success and availability of this project is dependent on the availability of the TDA8953TH IC.

ooh,  you may need the 1,800Wrms/channel BTL TA3020 class T  high power apps,    3,600W rms stereo at 8 ohms load....  di ka na mabibitin niyan.

hehe bitin talaga  kasi compared to a classic pioneer amp rated at 60watts (daw) talo pa rin yung DR100

I am thinking that the DR100W used 8 ohms speaker, or, the power supply may not enough.  When the DR100W  comes with rated power supply (+/- 27Vdc) and load (4 ohm) , it should reach a minimum of 65Wrms/channel driven at input sensitivity  (tested on 1KHz sinewave),  this will not be true if the load is 8 ohms.

Even the TDA8950TH,  the power rating is based on the 4 ohms load, also the TDA8953J - well,  all these brothers are evaluated from 3 to 6 ohms load for SE, and 8 ohms load on BTL.     We do not have measurement on SPL or power rating in functional music test.

If we have already a ready speaker, it is important to match this speaker to our amplifier - otherwise, we are expecting something from our power amplifier which cannot be attain.

I'm in to this solution for high power, mainly for curiousity, but accoridnlgy, this can be operate in the SE mode,  siguro 600Wrms/channel at 4 ohms,  1,200Wrms stereo with correct PSU.
