Aeolus 850C SMD Rework Station Repair

I got this SMD rework station for 250 petot.. walang lang heater..I bought a replacement heater for 100 petot and installed..but sad to say walang control yung heat nya...it goes to minimum then shoot up to max! My first suspect is the control..


Time to baklas na...

Check the 500K control ok naman....so I decided to dig deeper...with proper equipment on hand..madali lang mahanap yung salarin...

Ito naman ang salarin..0.047uF X2 capacitor..




Doing a quick check with my LCR+ESR meter reveals the whole story..



Ang 47nF naging 9.8pF na lang!


Mahirap hanapin sa bundok ang mga ganitong caps higher than 50V. Ito na lang napulot ko...0.047uF 630V galing sa horizontal section ng TV...




Noticed the reading of good cap...


Well gumana ba? Absolutely! just salvaged some power MOSFET sa sirang MOBO...

Nagawa ko ng mapalitan ito using green cap sa cfl bulb. Problema naman hindi nago-off ng kusa after switching off yung unit. Kapag nagpurging mode na siya.
