sino po may experience dito with DIY hardware? gusto ko ring matuto ng CPLD/FPGA pero start muna ako sa CPLD. hehehe.

Check mo sa altera website. Kung OK sa iyo yung MAX II CPLD nila, may schematic sa paggawa ng sariling JTAG cable (sa parallel port nga lang), 1 year free license sa dev software nila (Quartus), etc..

thanks sir Born2BeWired. mukhang Altera din yung gagamitin ko. 600 gates lang muna. ;D

malas lang walang Parallel Port yung mismong PC ko sa office. hehehe. yung FTDI merong chip na merong Parallel output para sa JTAG. madalas ko nga lang makita para sa ARM ginamit (yun din gamit dun sa Luminary Micro board ko, baka pwede i-modify ;D).

MAXII CPLD is good enough already.. mas madali din gawan ng DIY board kasi kunti lang ang pin (100?).. pwede rin MAX+plus II instead na quartus..

yung parallel port based JTAG cable uses only 74HC244 chip plus about 20 resistors.. kulang nalang yung CPLD chip na mismo :D

nagtanong ako early this year, wala pa daw sila price para sa mga CPLDs na yan. Sana bukas mag-inquire ako meron na..

ito talaga ang gusto kung gawin dati, kaso dumating sa buhay ko ang PIC18F4550 board, kaya USB muna ;D

nasa $55 tp $80 siguro (kung available sa Mouser, $55 yung standard shipping cost nila kung kasya sa sukat nun).

12% VAT plus Documentary stamps. ang typical estimate ko na lang (Cost + Shipping) x 1.3. at most na siguro 'yun. unless ang tingin ng customs e ibebenta yung product, baka magkaroon ng duties na 35% ata.

kailangan ko na talaga ulit ng parallel port. hehehe.

ang isang tinitingnan ko kung pwede yung JTAG programmer nung Lumiary Micro kit ko. JTAG output din kasi tapos madali i-modify yung codes dahil based sa isang FTDI chip.

gusto kong explore yung FT2232 from FTDI. meron kasing USB to JTAG programming (using Bit Bang Mode). this way mas madali mag-experiment sa laptop ko. wala na kasing parallel port ang mga laptop. ;D

medyo mahal nga lang yung FT2232, nasa 600+ ata. meron na sa Luminary Micro board ko pero para sa ARM yung JTAG. kung imo-modify ko baka kailanganin kong pag-aralan ng JTAG at yung way ng pag-program ng mga CPLD. hehehe. matagal na naman 'to. lagi na lang busy sa ibang project. tapos 'pag nasa bahay na, puro internet na lang ginagawa. hehe.
