Help: with my transistor circuit project.
« on: September 13, 2008, 12:35:55 PM »
Hi ,

I have this problem of making ttl output to act as switch to a 12v external circuit,
here's my setup:

i am using an npn transistor as the switch, from a 12v (6A) power supply, connected to my load (which is a 12 v lamp) which s is then connected to the collector of the npn, the emitter goes to ground, and the base comes from the TTL IC

basing from a diagram i got from a book, i could say it would work out just fine, but what happened in my circuit was, the transistor cannot turn on my 12v lamp. I dont think I have a faulty transistor, coz I've tested it.... I am using a bc845 npn transistor

do I really need a relay(electromechanical) for this one?
is  there any way I can work this out without including a relay?

hope you guys can help me with this ...

thanks

based on your description it seems like hindi kayang i-drive ng TTL transistor mo yung power transistor mo.. in that case you can use a darlington connected output transistor yung unahan is 2SC1061 at yung naka-connect sa lamp ay 2N3055..
I wish for this night-time to last for a lifetime
The darkness around me
Shores of a solar sea
Oh how I wish to go down with the sun
Sleeping
Weeping
With you

I walk alone
Every step I take
I walk alone
My winter storm
Holding me awake
It’s never gone

I fear that soon you'll reveal
Your dangerous mind
As your true colours show
A dangerous sign

..cge nga po chech nyo ngayon in circuit kung ung emmiter nga naka ground and collector to the load...

double check lang po...baka po nagkamali nung nasa board na,,,hehehehe

madalas mangyari sakin,,,,nasusundan ko pcb layout,,,eh sa likod pala component...hhehehhe

@electron

ayos nakuha ko rin, di ko na ginamit ang 3055, kaya ng 1061, pero naka darlington din sa gamit kong transistor

thanks a lot
