Hindi napansin ang thread mo... Kindly elaborate kung ano ang gusto mong gawin.. In general sa interfacing make sure to check the power requirement na kinabit mo sa serial port. Check the sink/source current kung kayang mameet at mahandle ng serial port.

only few books are discussing about serial port interfacing for VB.. as i notice, ndi pa nga masyado helpful ung discussions.. VB books and ebooks are more on database and windows programming.. especially the .NET

Try to download programs and application notes in microchip or NI, they have plenty of available literatures relative to serial ports. Sample programs are also available to download with their respective sites.. (usually coded in C or ASM..)

Some sites offers downloadable source code for RS-232 and/or RS-485 as shared by 'intellectual' and 'guru programmers' around the world where only few modifications and steps are needed to match the pattern with your application to work with your selected MCU either 8051, PICxx, or 32bit 'monsters'

just be smart and be intelligent to seek them out..

i want interface gsm module in serial port but i dont know what command do i need for the gsm module. Some of the codes have corresponding hardware. In terms of serial interfacing, is the same for all?

A simple AT Command will do to communicate gsm module..

Use MSCOMM.ocx, open comport and sends AT Commands.

almost but if you want to control pc ports dapat may dll ka na tatawagin to do this.

actually ang alam ko pwede ka magrecieve ng serial data then insert it in a spreedsheet pero mag output ng data from it papuntang serial wla pa me naeencounter.

nagattempt ako dati magsend ng SMS galing pc to cp(FBUS) using excel VBA,
ayun nabilang sa hindi ko natapos na project, hehehehe,
