Yung classic pic programmer ni david tait is parallel port based. Mas maganda ang parallel port based na pic programmer kasi most of the time gumagamit yan ng buffer gaya ng 7407 or 7406. Meron kang margin of safety pag parallel port ginamit mo.

kya kahit na sa desktop ok sya gamitin kc usb to rs232 lang or pwede din rs232 ang gamitin alisin mo yung usb to rs232 converter. so very versatile sya and to top it all it can program from 12,14,16 and 18 pic family.

note:
unang gamit ko nga pla david tait kya naiprogram ko yung f628A. kelangan nga pla program ang f628A nito. kya gawa muna kyo ng pang parallel to program first the firmware of 628A.

sa PicMicro, anong pinagkaiba, in terms of performance and electrical characteristics, ng mga pic na meron "C" sa part# saka ng mga pic na meron "F"???

gamit ko kasi JDM based na programmer (with ICProg).. gumagana sya sa PIC16F73
pero sa PIC12C671 nag-eerror!  :(
may mali kaya hardware ko?  ???

Yung may "F" naman ay Flash Based, meaning reprogrammable...
