Ang walang kamatayang thesis..."Automatic Billboard Wind Sensor Device"

Gud day po sa lahat.. just want to seek opinions regarding sa pinasa naming proposal title sa thesis entitled "Automatic Billboard Wind Sensor Device" (wala na kaming maisip na mas magandang title eh!  ) first formal defense na po namin next sem. it's a device na ina-attach sa mga billboards to prevent damage or destruction sa mga billboards kapag may mga typhoons or strong surge of winds. meron syang wind sensor na nagdedetermine kung kelan magroroll up ung rolling mechanism(or something like that). kapag naabot ung certain "critical level" ng wind pressure, automatic syang magttriger para magroll up ung billboard at iinform ung user via SMS. kapag naman humina na ung wind pressure, automatic din syang magroroll down at iinform ulit ung user via SMS.

yan po ung pinakabasic na feature nun. balak pa naming mag-incorporate ng ibang features like ung kapag may nasira na spotlight (or bulb) sa billboard, maiinform din ung user via SMS syempre.

watcha think? nga pla, ako din po ung nagpost dito dati about sa thesis na security system na topic. pinalitan po namin un kc masyado na syang common sa industry saka mejo maraming butas. ehe..

ello po,, nagcomment ung prof namin tungkol s ganyan proj. share ko po seo,, sabi nung prof namin,, mahal ang ganyang proj proposal, kasi syempre gagamit ka ng motors, ilan motors un? gano kalaki ung billboard na papatiklupin diba? pwede na lang maghire ng 10 na tao pra magbaba at magakyat nung billboard without spending large amount of money. tpos pag gagawa kau ng proto type na,, pano kayo makakapagproduce ng hangin na masesense ng sensor niyo? bka yan ung mga tanungin senyo po ehh kc yan ung cnb nung prof namin,, goodluck na lang,,.. balitaan mu po ako plss... tnx...

tama po...kc when u propose for a project hndi lang functionality ang tinitingnan dyan dapat i-consider ang cost-effectiveness nya and viability sa market.  pero depende rin kasi yan sa panel of examiner nyo during ur oral defense..at saka po kaya nyo naman cguro gumawa ng prototype na di nalalayo sa actual bilboard sizes at kaya nyo i-simulate ang designed operation..nakikita ko kc na na costly yan.
Like for instance, may nag-thesis d2 sa amin 8 years ago..."automatic board eraser"..gumamit ng motors..almost like a robotic arm pero hndi pa ganun ka-sophisticated.hndi kc automatic kundi remote controlled.ung prototype nila almost P10,000.00 miniature lang na board not the actual size.

but anyways...i wish u goodluck sa project nyo...

I also find it impractical. Ska how do you propose to roll up the billboard thingking nka fix ang base nya pra di malipad, ibig sabihin may quick release lock ka pa sa base nya. Then automatic itatali uli nya after rolling down? di sya ganun kadali compared to ordinary screen ksi if malakas na hangin cgurado may air resistance at halos dumikit na ung tarpaulin sa structure frame nya so paano na nya hihilahin ung billboard ng hindi napupunit.

taking impracticality aside (you can probably produce a low-cost prototype for the project that can be scaled-up if future technological advances make it more feasible), i think its better that aside from sensing only a single occurrence of the threshold speed, you sense the number of occurrences over a minute or so before you decide to roll the tarpaulins up.

Given your current specifications multiple small duration hard blows of the wind over the threshold, which is not necessarily hazardous, would cause the motor to turn on and off very frequently. You probably wouldn't want this to occur given the surge currents caused by a motor turning on.

i think very simple lng design ng system nyo mga paps,
pero sa implementation mukhang "madugo"

meron available na module para sa sms application.kya lng dapat my subscription ka sa provider bgo mo magamit ito.d ito ka2lad ng pre-paid.(makakbili ka n2 sa mga security system shops.)

about sa motors, parang roll up door design lng ang pwede gawin d2.
kailngan mo low geared na motor o VFD/softstarter para ma control mo speed n2 para di mapunit ang "tarpaulin"
kailngan mo rin counter weight para sa dulo lng tarpaulin para di sya lili-padlipadin ng hangin.

sa sensors naman.
kailangan mo rotary encoder para accurate ang settings ng tarpaulin pag nag roll up/down
solenoid o actuator para nman sa interlocking ng counter weight para sa tarpaulin mo
airflow, tilt sensor o differential pressure switch para sa hangin.

at best of all, PLC na my network capable para makonek mo module sa sms.
d magiging issue ang plc programming d2 sa design na to kc napaka simple lng.timing o simple start/stop command at interlocking.

question lng... ttry din poh sana nmin 2ng project n toh pro un din naiisip nming problems... meron sana kaming gustong imodify like having a cut part by part of the tarp and then separate it evenly. or for attivation we based it on weather report of pagasa. is it possible? we need youre help...
