A seed is a client that has a complete copy of the data of a certain torrent. Once your BitTorrent client finishes downloading, it will remain open until you click the Finish button (or otherwise close it). This is known as being a seed or seeding.

My router/modem is a huawei smartAX MT880 - provided by bayantel. Basically, I don't port forward. Instead, I just set the router to DMZ (demilitarized zone). I don't know how it works, pero feeling ko lang, lahat ng ports will be open. I don't have to set the port number and etc...

It works great for me. Maximized ko ang speed na provided na Bayantel... it have an average of 85kB/s with a burst of more than 100kB/s. My subscribed speed is 768kbps with SOD of 1024kbps.

Kung meron din yang router mo, might as well try it.

may idae ba kayo kung paano bibilis ang pag download ng mga torrent files gaya sa utoorent.. share naman jan
the following steps were proven and tested. im using utorrent as my torrent downloader. what i did was:
1.] simply right click the utorrent icon at the system tray and adjust the upload limit from "unlimited" to "5 or 10kB/sec". by doing this, the bandwidth allocation of your internet connection is more prioritized to "download".

2.] (this is optional.) right click the download priority setting and adjust to "high priority".

3.] right click the torrent file you are currently downloading and set the "bandwidth allocation" to "high".

i hope, this helps you a little... oh! by the way, my internet bandwidth is only 384kbps, DSL ;) :) :D

@GTowerZ
proportional ang upload at download. limiting your upload will SLOW your download speed. since 384kbps lang connection mo malamang pwede pa yan...

The effectiveness of this data exchange depends largely on the policies that clients use to determine to whom to send data. Clients may prefer to send data to peers that send data back to them (a tit for tat  scheme), which encourages fair trading. But strict policies often result in suboptimal situations, such as when newly joined peers are unable to receive any data because they don't have any pieces yet to trade themselves or when two peers with a good connection between them do not exchange data simply because neither of them takes the initiative. To counter these effects, the official BitTorrent client program uses a mechanism called “optimistic unchoking”, whereby the client reserves a portion of its available bandwidth for sending pieces to random peers (not necessarily known good partners, so called preferred peers) in hopes of discovering even better partners and to ensure that newcomers get a chance to join the swarm.[10]
