if usb flash drive to mcu ang setup, dapat meron embedded host capability ang microcontroller. Some PIC24 and PIC32 chips meron nito.

If ordinary microcontroller lang ang gustong gamitin, why not use a multimedia card instead of USB flash drive.

Use a MMC or SD cards (SPI protocol) and then use a USB card reader to read your data written on the MMC or SD card.  UP Diliman students have used the z8 encore to write to MMC cards using FAT16 format in previous MADC contests. See
     http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/microdesigncontest/
go to the "Files" section
then to the directory
     "Open Design 2007-2008 Docs"
the entry
"Axel Monitor Phase 2 MADC Full Documentation.pdf "

You might need to join the egroup to access the files.

fyi :-)

mga master tnx.
mukhang mmc or sd nalang ang gagamitin ko.
meron po bang version sa pic?

pwede na ang pic16f877a

but why not try making your own MMC card reader? you can use the popular PIC18F4550.
