Author Topic: Anong pinagkaiba ng Ceramic, Mylar at Polyproylene Capacitor? (Read 1791 times)

nagtataka kasi ako minsan kasi may mga circuit na mylar caps ang gamit tapos yung iba naman ceramic disks at polypropylene caps. Bat ganun?

Different cap materials differ in their "qualities". Such as ESR, maximum voltage, tolerance, stray inductance, temperature stability or temp coefficient (+ or -) and most importantly COST.
I don't know exactly what material has which or what's its predominant "quality".
But I think you could search this on google or by looking at its datasheet.

Ang polypropylene capacitors mababa ang self-discharged niya at leakage current kaya expensive yan at yan din ang ginagamit sa mga sample and hold circuits at digital testers. Ceramics at Mylars cheap pero mataas ang leakage current.

Ideal capacitors do not exists.
Welcome to the real world!

Walang one size, fits all. Katulad ng sinabi nina zer0w1ng,papi electron at julznc, maraming factors ang involved sa selection, with application and price taking the front stage. Ceramic capacitors is a popular choice for power supply bypass application because it is cheap and has decent esr. Timing applications will require capacitors with low Tempco. Low soakage is desirable for integrators circuits, and so on. That's why capacitors comes in a variety of flavors and colors.

Non-polarized ang polypropylene capacitors kaya ok lang naman mabaliktad.. same thing sa mylar and ceramic capacitors
