SENSOR with broad line of sight or coverage
« on: July 11, 2009, 08:40:44 PM »
guys, engineers, ano po sensor na may broad coverage or line of sight and hindi lang concentrated on one area or single line.. i mean po, yung parang spherical field ang line of sight nya dat when someone enters or moves within the radius of that detection field of the sensor ay machange output nya na gagamitin ko na sa circuitry ko... i know of photoelectronic sensors, PIRs and ultrasonic ones pero single line or limited lang kasi ang line of sight niya or area of coverage para magdedetect ang sensor...

by the way about security tong project ko na when someone tries to enter or go near an object or area where the sensor is placed, ay mag-aalarm yung circuitry connected to the sensor and corresponding mechanical actuated output will be energized.. :)

why not use multiple sensors para lumaki ang coverage area mo? manufacturers use this technique kasi it is easier to implement and cost effective..

mutiple PIR sensor and multiple Ultrasonic sensors grouped together to form a wider arc of coverage area..

multiple sensors will be better... bakit ba kamo?

aside sa malaki na ang coverage na masasakop at cost effective pa, maari na ring gamiting pang verify. if you have a single wide coverage sensor, di naman maaring matrigger lang ay may intruder na. having to implement multiple sensors, maaring maging verification na din yung ibang sensors. say sensor1 has been triggered, your system should expect that the adjacent sensor will also be triggered. pagkatapos nyan, maari nang sabihin ng system mo na may intruder nga.

the area or the size can now be identified... kunyari, may kalapating mababa ang lipad at dumaan sa area of coverage. your system may identify the area occupied by the trigger. say for a human being, dapat 10 triggers kapag kalapati baka 3 lang.  In this case, maaring bibilangin ng system mo kung ilan sensors ang natrigger. kapag nagTRUE sa constants mo, then may intruder nga. i guess you will have to do some experimentation for this.

another thing, last na to. with multiple sensor, the speed of the intruder (or kalapati) can also be identified. kapag yung mababa ang lipad na kapati ay dumaan, pwedeng icalculate ng system mo kung gaano kabilis ang dumaan. sigurado naman ako na mas mabilis ang lipad ng kalapati sa tao na tumatakbo.... hehehe ;D

ang point ko, with multiple sensors, maaring magkaroon pa ng mas magandang result ang study...other parameters can now be considered. :D

teka, thesis ba to? heheheh :D
