Sis, kindly visit the website if PARA ORG PH, under sa radio laws then license.

Kelangan mag attend muna ng seminar ng NTC, after nun pwede na magregister for exam,

Visit mo rin ung binisaya.de na website para may overview ka sa topics, esp elements 2,3,4

Enjoy the hobby.

Well, well, timely I opened this thread. We have to segment the bands. Or talk about a particular band. Yung CB sa 27Megs, patay na. Yung VHP, turn one on and you wil pick up a dozen or so sa M.M. (144Mhz). Yung UHF, marami din.

Now, yung Ham usually refers to long distance communication. Dito sa Pinas inter islands. Internationally, it is all over the world. I thought nga sa upisa yung and tanong, HAM.

Try 7+ Megs nightly kun andun pa yung national net. may nag uusap dati. I have two SSB HF transceivers, de tubo pa. Pero fixed channel lang. So, limitado.

Sa U.S., it goes on as ever. In fact they are awaiting for Baofeng to come in with cheap HFs. Mayroon daw pero rejected by the FCC. I was just browsing and shopping. Marami new and used sa Ebay.

Well, you might wonder why I am looking. For a friend. He is in the province and he believes 2018 will have many tragedies and he believes mobile networks, internet will collapse. So, he want to have an HF on standby. Pero dapat may ka-partner siya dito sa Maynila, Cebu, etc...

License. Good to have one if you are going to be a regular on the air. But when there is a disaster, it will be an emergency situation and your message will be short.

Of course when Yolanda took place, amny could not communicate with their family member away. I suggested those hams in Leyte to set up shops in centers. People can make the request to forward a message to someone in Manila. The Ham op there can contact a Ham op here then relay via cp, radio, phone, messenger if very critical.

Today, we can buy a mobile HF rig. Pang kotse at compact. Nakita ko sa U.S. $250 upwards, used and can reach $1500 or more.
